- Threads should be clean and lubricated with a light oil before torquing.
- Torque only with the vehicle sitting at full weight on the leaf springs.
- Trim the U-bolt if there is more than 15mm excess length.
- Re-tension after the first 1,000km.

Formula U-bolt torque settings
U-bolt threads should be clean and lubricated using a light oil such as engine or transmission oil. Re-tension U-bolts after the vehicle has driven 1000km.
Recommended for your M14 U-bolt: 140 N.m (105 lb.ft)
